ORKU is so pleased to have a collaboration with Alice. Alice has six years experience of teaching and guiding people through yoga, but has benefited from it herself for so much longer. Alice strongly believes that yoga is for everyone and can utilise her vast knowledge of different techniques, yoga props, anatomy and sport injuries to create the best class and experience for each of you.
Alice offers a well rounded practice for her students to enjoy a class that enables improvements in mindfulness, mobility, strength and confidence. By using a combination of vinyasa and therapeutic yoga, you will be guided through seated and standing postures, working on mobility, balance and core strength. Throughout the class there will also be opportunity to relax your body and mind through breathing and meditative techniques. Alice welcomes people of all abilities to her classes.
There is a maximum of 6 people in each class at our studio in ORKU, so Alice can supervise everyone closely and tailor exercises for individual needs and abilities.

PREGNANCY Yoga
Pregnancy yoga is a beautiful practice to connect with your unborn baby and to nourish yourself during pregnancy. During the class, we will move through gentle flows and strong holds to strengthen you mentally and physically in preparation for birth.
There will be suggestions around how you can make your alignment work better for your pregnant body to help alleviate common pregnancy symptoms such as back pain. We will also practice techniques such as the three vital tonings (pelvic, abdominal and vocal), meditation and breathwork which you can continue to practice throughout your pregnancy.
There will be plenty of modifications offered throughout the class and we will always end with a long savasana (rest) for you to fill up your cup before heading back out into the world. Please bring some light layers to keep you warm, plenty of water or squash and a snack if you are suffering with nausea. Mats, blocks and bolsters are provided.

pilates
Pilates is a great whole body workout that looks at improving coordination, flexibility, stretching and core strengthening. In each class you will work on incorporating your breath into every movement and exercise. This specific type of training allows for releasing tension, increasing functional strength and giving you a greater body awareness.
Pilates with Emer is designed to help you get that mind body connection, combined with improved core strength and flexibility!
There is a maximum of 6 people in each class at our studio in ORKU, so Emer can supervise everyone closely and tailor exercises for individual needs and abilities.
